Matt Hughes: MD & Founder of One Stop Social

The Founder & Managing Director of One Stop Social is Matt Hughes.

Matt has extensive experience working as a front-line Support Worker, Social Worker and Manager for Children’s Social Care and Youth Offending Teams, which dates back to over a decade. In that time, I have managed police officers, probation officers, social workers and support workers. I have assisted a Local Authority during Ofsted inspection to manage, ‘trouble-shoot’ and support qualified staff. I have also led in specific areas of service delivery development – such as front-line working, criminal youth justice, court work and implementing safeguarding procedures. Specialisms include:

  • Development of best practice policies, guidance and procedures.
  • Development and implementation of safeguarding plans.
  • Development of best practice in Lancashire Youth Justice Court Work (YOT) – including a 40-page document sentencing outcomes for CYP’s.
  • Managing difficult and complex cases.
  • Managing and supporting staff with performance related issues.
  • ‘Trouble-shooting’ work related issues – whether procedural or individually related.
  • Managing business development.

Neil Byers

Neil Byers joined the One Stop Social team in January 2017.

Neil previously worked with LWDP, which sadly closed after many years of supporting the Adult Social Care Sector to improve the quality of care delivered by staff to their clients.

The good news is that we have offered Neil the opportunity to join our team so that he can continue to help improve the care delivered across Lancashire in the way he did during 14 years with LWDP.

Matt had this to say about Neil:

“I am very excited and pleased that Neil has decided to join our team. I have worked with him in his previous role and know how highly regarded he is within the Adult Social Care Sector.

He shares the same passion for improving standards within the Social Care and Social Work Sector as we do here at One Stop Social. He has extensive experience in helping Care Providers with recruiting and in the retention of the right staff (which is a major issue for managers in this Sector). He will continue his work as a Relationships Manager and I am already seeing his input into developing the practices and services offered by One Stop Social.”
